For The Horse clientele, Da Vinci might well have been talking about our Nosebag - especially the pizza: Twice risen focaccia dough made fresh every morning, hand rolled to a wafer thin 13 inches, smothered in our rich eight hour slow cooked tomato passata and finest fior di latte mozzarella and finally stone baked until perfectly crisp. Three ingredients, a whole day to prepare and three minutes to cook.

Simplicity is indeed the ultimate sophistication.

Each space has been individually styled with utter luxury in mind and boast a wealth of original designer fixtures and fittings. Music at the horse

Here at The Horse we are passionate about seasonal food, fine wine and Devon ales… and we also love music. Moretonhampstead is home to many talented musicians, and The Horse is one of only a few pubs on Dartmoor that regularly features live music.

HORSERADISH

THIRD THURSDAY EVERY MONTH

From 8.30pm, local musicians liven up the bar with well known classics. Horseradish are a popular and much-loved addition to evenings at The Horse.

FOLK NIGHT

LAST MONDAY EVERY MONTH

Come and enjoy a well-established evening of acoustic folk music. It's completely informal, warm and welcoming. All ages and abilities are welcome - just bring your instruments and voices. And if you are not joining in the session, come along for a drink and revel in the musical ambience.

MORETON MINI MUSIC DAY

A well-established spin-off from the long running Moreton Music Day, this is for under 18 performers only - a fantastic event that showcases the immense talent of Dartmoor’s young musicians.
